OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Operations Manager is a key member of the NINJAZ team. Reporting directly to the President, the Operations Manager provides direction and leadership to a team of 20+ part-time staff members and 4 full-time department coordinators. The Operations Manager will ensure brand success by determining ‘Where we are’ and ‘How do we get to where we want to be’ through Strategic Operations Management, Product/Program Design, Human Resource Planning and Quality Management.Inherently ‘Social’

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility.
  • Set goals and milestones for service and customer satisfaction, analyzing performance metrics to determine optimal policies, and providing guidance and supervision to the entire team
  • Manage, meet and exceed overall stated goals and objectives and successfully lead diverse and multiple profit centres within existing business such as events, fitness and training, walk-ins/guest service, food and beverage, retail and new programs.
  • Manage, evaluate, and improve all products and service/programs, establishing and driving objectives, goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Create and manage training and development seminars/presentations/workshops to ensure a well-trained team reflects our brand standards, fitness philosophy, programs, services and supplements.
  • Review performance and provide coaching, feedback and direction; resolve behaviour and performance issues as needed.
  • Administer facility policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent Performance Improvement Plan for all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
  • Analyze and improve employee scheduling strategies to keep labour costs down, maintain labour budget oversight, optimize employee schedules, and keep controls on administrative costs.
  • Create and present bi-monthly reports for all departments, budget planning, performance updates, customer satisfaction and quality management.
  • Responsible for responding quickly to emergency situations and maintaining an updated CPR, First Aid certification at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience as a Manager in fitness, childcare, recreational, hospitality and/or retail industry in any department (example: HR, Operations) or general management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and strong customer service skills.
  • Team player with a positive approach; ability to coach and motivate others
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a MUST.
  • CPR & First Aid are required and must be maintained through employment.
  • We are open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays including public holidays (with exceptions), PA days, March Break, Summer/Winter Break. This position will have a full-time, flexible schedule and must be available during regular operational hours as stated.

NINJAZ ASSOCIATE

NINJAZ Canada Inc. is seeking new talent for Climbing Instructors. We are looking for individuals with energy, enthusiasm & creativity who are interested in working with children and adults in a gym setting. Instructors are responsible for the supervision of kids and adults while they are actively using the gym attractions – rock climbing, obstacle courses, soft play area.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet customers and lead them through different activities during events and walk-in hours.
  • Monitor and supervise participants on the Climbing walls.
  • Explain all safety rules to participants and parents, assist participants with their climbing harness, guide them with proper climbing techniques, encourage and motivate them when needed.
  • Pay complete attention to the Climbing section at all times and be interactive with the participants.
  • May be required to monitor and supervise participants in the Kids Ninja Course area.
  • Clean and sanitize soft play area and other equipment when required and keep the area free from objects that can cause harm to kids inside the facility.
  • Communicate with guests using clear, enthusiastic words, tone, and body language. Handle customer concerns, questions, and inquiries when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be confident working with kids of all ages.
  • Background in the fitness industry is preferred but not required. (athletics, sports, dance, cheer, gymnastics, martial arts, or related field)
  • High energy, friendly and a positive attitude. Able to maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Must be available to work during weekends.
  • A Clean Police check is required.
  • CPR and First aid are preferred.

YOUTH FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, plan and execute Ninja Warrior class program for participants.
  • Supervise participants on the obstacle course during classes, competitions and events.
  • Encourage and motivate participants throughout the sessions while ensuring the safety of all.
  • Handle client concerns, questions, and inquiries when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with children in martial arts, gymnastics, fitness or similar field is preferred.
  • CPR/ First aid certification.
  • A clean background check is required.
  • Part-time, flexible hours.

EVENTS MANAGER

NINJAZ Canada Inc. is hiring a dynamic, energetic, self-motivating Events Manager to supervise and manage Corporate/Team building events, Birthday Parties and Group Bookings. You must be available to work weekends, some holidays and as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times.
  • Communicate effectively throughout the organization, from floor staff to upper management.
  • Complete special projects or additional work requests made by management on time.
  • Be proactive in identifying problems which may compromise service, quality, safety and/or company financial performance.
  • Maintain a cooperative and sensitive teamwork attitude when dealing with management, staff, and customers.
  • Supervise and train all floor and party staff in various functions including but not limited to customer service, phone etiquettes, proper message procedures and delivery, duties necessary to prepare for scheduled parties, groups and events.
  • Manage all staff schedules pertaining to the department including coverage of the party office and all party host positions.
  • Manage all customer service issues and be proactive & creative with problem-solving.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate. College degree preferred.
  • Some experience of sales and party management is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem solving, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient PC skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other system programs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain successful team and cross-functional relationships.

MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and implement social media content strategies aimed at building the NINJAZ brand.
  • Partner with stakeholders to address feedback, questions and online reviews.
  • Build a strong understanding of social media audiences and stay up-to-date with social trends.
  • Provide live coverage of special events and other relevant programs on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
  • Work with the President and ensure all platforms are aligned with the overall strategic goals of NINJAZ Canada.
  • Monitor and review analytics of social media channels using various tools.
  • Research and develop original and curated content for blog, articles, social media posts, etc.
  • Integrate with the marketing team, freelancers, graphic designers, influencers, bloggers to create unique online content
  • Report on growth, performance and any recommendations and measure ROI on all campaigns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a social media role, focused on content development, scheduling/posting as well as managing on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
  • A natural self-starter and strong communicator and effective content writer.
  • Experience in developing video/graphics content is an asset.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
